ASHVILLE - Kenneth Wayne Knowlton, 67, of Chautauqua Ave., Ashville, N.Y., died Monday (July 16, 2012), in WCA Hospital.
He was born May 2, 1945, in Toronto, Canada, the son of the late Frank and Mary Calhoun Knowlton.
Ken was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and was a member of the Navy SEAL Team One during Vietnam with multiple service awards as well as the Purple Heart.

Ken had been a real estate broker, property manager, musician playing the keyboard, a stuntman in movies, and owned SurKen Entertainment Business in Ashville.
He attended the Maranatha Baptist Church in Mayville, a member of the American Legion in Lakewood and the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Ashville Fire Department of which he was a member of the Fire Police.
Ken loved to sing and compose songs, when singing he would always end with the song "God Bless America."
He is survived by his wife, Surlanda Canoy Knowlton, whom he married June 26, 2004, in Santa Paula, Calif.; two sons: Jason and Jurgen; one daughter, Jansen; seven grandchildren: Jeremy, Jan, Jacob, Jenna, Jayden, Julian and Jiada; a brother, Wayne Knowlton and a sister, Linda Gabhart, both of Victorville, Calif.; three nephews: Tom, Michael, and Kevin; and one niece, Cristina.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Maranatha Baptist Church, 43 Academy St., in Mayville. The Rev. Norman Burdick will officiate. Burial will be in the Magnolia Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday in the Maranatha Baptist Church.

The Freay Funeral Home in Mayville is in charge of arrangements.
