First Lutheran Church, Center and Chandler streets, Jamestown, will hold a buy one, get one free sale from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. today and Friday at its Community Outreach Center on the third floor of the church. Proceeds will be used to support local nonprofit organizations.
Local Author To Speak Thursday
BROCTON- William Fleeman, a local author, will speak on his first novel, "The Plot to Kill Susan B. Anthony," at 6 p.m. Thursday in the Ahira Hall Memorial Library in Brocton. He is also the author of several nonfiction books. Anyone wishing to discuss one of his books or learn about the process of writing and self-publishing is encouraged to attend. Class of 1972 To Hold Dinner
FREWSBURG - The Frewsburg Central School Class of 1972 will hold its 40th class reunion the weekend of Aug. 11. A casual meet and greet will begin at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Dave Johnson's home in Frewsburg. An informal, bring-your-own luncheon will be from 11 a.m. to 2 pm.. Saturday, Aug. 12, at Willis C. Hale Park. Dinner will be at Miller's Grove, 64 Old Fentonville Road, Frewsburg, with social hour at 5 p.m. and dinner at 6 p.m. Reunion organizers need reservations for the Aug. 12 dinner by July 30. Legion To Host Entertainment
LAKEWOOD - The Lakewood American Legion will host Gina Vechio and Coaltrain on Saturday from 7 to 11 p.m. The Saturday night menu will be available.
Vacation Bible School Planned
The Ashville, Blockville, Celoron and Lakewood United Methodist churches will host Camp Son, a vacation Bible school for prekindergarten children through eighth grade, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. July 30 to Aug. 2, in the Lakewood church, corner of Shadyside and Summit avenues, Lakewood. Annual Lawn Sale Set
Lighthouse Baptist Academy, 381 Camp St., Jamestown, will have its annual lawn sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. Clothes, tools, home goods, jewelry and more will be available. Food will be sold. The proceeds will help pay for the 2013 school trip to the Norfolk/Wilmington, Va., area.
Outdoor Club To Hike Sunday
On Sunday, the Allegheny Outdoor Club will hike five miles on the Tracy Ridge Hiking Trail System in the Allegheny National Forest. Participants will meet at Howes True Value on Route 6 at 1:30 p.m. or at the Tracy Ridge Trailhead parking lot at the Tracy Ridge Campground off Route 321 at 2 p.m. Bring plenty of water.
