CONEWANGO VALLEY - Craig H. "Poke" Brown, 55, of Route 62, Conewan-go Valley, passed away Sa-turday (July 14, 2012), at home, following a coura-geous 10-year battle with cancer.
He was born Jan. 24, 1957, in Salamanca, N.Y., the son of Harold Lowell and Madeline Miller Brown.
Poke was a 1975 gradu-ate of Randolph Central School, and a long-time employee of the former Crawford Furniture Com-pany in Jamestown, retiring due to illness. He was a member of the Randolph American Legion Post 181, where he was a member the Sons of the Legion. He loved life and riding on his Harley Davidson motorcy-cle. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and loved his grandchildren and his new puppy, Izzy.

He is survived by his mother of Conewango Val-ley; his wife, Debbie Fisher Brown; a daughter, Ailisa D. (Ryan Emmick) of Leon; three grandchildren: Chasi-ty and Britney Clifton and Avery Emmick, all of Leon, a sister, Yvonne (Mike) Calhoun of Conewango Valley; two brothers: Douglas "Bubba'' (Diane) Brown of Clairmont, N.C., and Terry "Charlie" (Pam) Brown of Ellington, N.Y.; as well as many aunts, un-cles, cousins and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Lowell Brown.
The family will receive family and friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday (July 18, 2012), in the VanRensse-laer & Son Funeral Home, 14 Church St., Randolph. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. The Rev. W. Mike Trenchard will officiate. Burial will be in the Rutledge Rural Cemetery in Conewango Valley, N.Y.
