Woman Charged With Endangering

MAYVILLE - A Mayville woman faces charges after her young child was reportedly found wandering around unsupervised twice in the same day.

Clarissa M. Dickey, 21, of Mayville, was charged with endangering the welfare of a child at 4:30 p.m. Thursday. According to a police report, a 3-year-old child was found wandering around near 83 E. Chautauqua St., Mayville. After an investigation, the child was returned home to Dickey, his mother.

Later that day the child was found wandering the same neighborhood and was turned over to the Sheriff's Department again. After an investigation into both incidents, deputies charged Dickey with endangering the welfare of a child.

She will be in Chautauqua Town Court later.
