The Lakewood-Busti Golden Agers will meet at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 17, for the annual tureen picnic in the Lakewood Legion.
Members attending should take a dish to pass and their table service. Helen Johnson, Sharon McCreary, Diane Bland, Donna and Bill Haines are the committee. Payment for the chicken barbecue at 12:30 p.m. on Aug. 21, catered by LaMonicas, is due at this meeting. The cost is $5 per person.
Thirty-eight seniors met in the Busti Firehall recently. Theresa Perrin, president, presided.
Nancy Miller led in song and the flag salute. Reports were given by Pennie Harvey, secretary and Connie Whitman, acting treasurer.
Richard Anderson stated that 303 pounds of coupons have been sent to troops overseas this year so far and he is working to expand this program to other senior groups.
Helen Johnson spoke on future trips and stated that payment for the Sept. 24 mystery trip was due at the August meeting.
Big band music was provided by Tim Stockman, the Tune Man.
Ellis Delahoy celebrated his birthday.
Nancy Miller closed the meeting with a thought for the day.
