Cancer Support Group To Meet

The Breast Cancer Support Group of Jamestown will meet Wednesday at Friendly's Restaurant in Brooklyn Square. Dinner will be at 6 p.m. followed by the meeting at 7 p.m. All breast cancer patients are invited to attend. Meg Pickard, Jamestown YMCA wellness director, will share deep relaxation techniques to reduce both physical and mental stress. Techniques discussed will include diaphragmatic breathing, imagery and mind body connections. For more information, call Pat Carr at 665-4343.

Free Bluegrass In Celoron Tonight

CELORON - There will be free bluegrass music at the Celoron American Legion tonight from 7 to 10 p.m. Bluegrass musicians are welcome to take a turn on stage. Backwoods Bluegrass will be the host. Backwoods Bluegrass will be at the Ellington Concert in the Park on Saturday from 6:30 to 9 p.m.

Gazebo Concert Series Set

The Busti Hamlet Development Group kicks off their "2012 Concerts at the Gazebo" on Saturday. The first concert of the season features John Cross and the Babalu Band starting at 7 p.m. at the Busti Gazebo. The concert series will continue every Saturday through Aug. 25. Doolittle Talk

Set In Randolph

RANDOLPH - Terry Schermerhorn, formerly of Ashville, will be the guest speaker at the SDA Church, 50 N. Washington St., Randolph, at 11 a.m. Saturday, speaking about "For Such A Time As This," about the Doolittle's Raid in Tokyo on April 18, 1942. The event is free and open to the public.

Child Safety Seat Check On Sunday

GERRY - Chautauqua County Sheriff's deputies will host a child passenger safety seat check from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday at the Gerry Rodeo Grounds. The check is to help parents inspect, select and install their safety seats properly. No traffic tickets will be issued.

Blood Drives Scheduled

The Community Blood Bank will host several blood drives throughout the area in July. They include: 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday at Heritage Green Rehab, Greenhurst; 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, July 16, at Heritage Village Rehab in Gerry; 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday, July 17, at Warren Community Holy Redeemer; 3 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, July 24, in the Cherry Creek Fire Hall; 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, July 26, at Westfield Memorial Hospital; and noon to 5 p.m. Friday, July 27, at WCA Hospital.

Farmers Market Open Wednesday

The Jamestown Community Farmers Market will open from 2 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at 712 E. Second St., Jamestown, offering fresh local produce, herbs and meats. Cash, EBT, SNAP, FMNP vouchers, debit and credit cards are accepted. The market will be open every Wednesday from 2 to 6 p.m. through Oct. 31.
