Allegany To Hold Holiday Festivities

SALAMANCA - Allegany State Park will celebrate the Fourth of July on Tuesday. Festivities start at 4 p.m. with a chicken barbecue. Cruisin' takes the stage at 7 p.m. followed by fireworks at 9:45 p.m. For more information, contact the Quaker Park Office at 354-2182.

Kids Camp Begins Monday

Healing Word Ministries will offer a two-month "Kids Camp" at 1006 W. Third St., Jamestown, on Mondays through Wednesdays beginning Monday and ending Aug. 31. The program is for children ages 4-12 years old and camp is from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily. A $5 per-day fee covers all expenses including activities, crafts, games, food and special outings. Freedom Bag Sale Set To Begin

Community Helping Hands, 31 Water St., in the Gateway Center, will hold its $1 freedom bag sale on Tuesday through Saturday, July 7. The agency is closed for the Fourth of July holiday. New items are put out every day. For more information, call 487-1488. All proceeds benefit the ministry of Community Helping Hands.

JPS Board To Meet Tuesday

The Jamestown Public Schools Board of Education will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the board room at 197 Martin Road. The public is welcome to attend.

Summer Reading Program Set

MAYVILLE - The Mayville Library will kick off its summer reading program on Monday at 6 p.m. The kickoff program is for preschool and elementary-aged children. A movie will be shown and snacks will be served. The elementary summer reading program will take place on the following Mondays at 7 p.m. - July 9, 16, 23 and 30. The preschool program will take place on the following Thursdays at 4:30 p.m. - July 5, 12, 19 and 26. For more information, please phone the library at 753-7362.

North Harmony Offices Closed

NORTH HARMONY - The offices of the town of North Harmony and North Harmony Town Court will be closed Wednesday through Friday. The court will also be closed for evening hours on Thursday, July 5.

Food Drive Set For Tuesday

The Ashville Food Pantry located in Ashville United Methodist Church on Route 474 by the blinker light will host the WNY Food Express Truck on Tuesday at noon until 1:30 p.m. then reopening at 3:30 until 5 p.m. The truck will bring fresh fruit and vegetables along with many more items such as dairy products breads and many more. WNY Food bank has assigned the zip codes that are eligible to attend this Food Express area and they are as follows Ashville 14710, Lakewood 14750, Bemis Point 14720, Niobe 14750, Panama 14767 and Stow 14785. Rebeca Davis from Cornell Cooperative Extension will be at the church sharing healthy recipes and ideas. Anyone attending should bring their own bags or boxes to take their food home.
