Spiritual Awakening Services Continue
Spiritual awakening services will be held at 7 p.m. today through Thursday in the Martin Road Christian Fellowship. The Rev. Darel Daniels of the Improve Baptist Church, Columbia, Miss., will be the guest speaker. Special music will also be presented during the services. The House of Prayer Praise Team of Salamanca, will be featured Monday; The Red Letter Blues of Jamestown, will perform Tuesday; and a couple from Mississippi will perform Wednesday and Thursday. Ripley Community Day Is Saturday
RIPLEY - The Ripley Community Day Fest will be from 2 to 10 p.m. Saturday at the Firemen's Field, 2 Park Ave., Ripley. The event is a fundraiser for Ripley Hose Co. No. 1 and its auxiliary. Attractions will include a craft show, Chinese auction and games. 1956 SWCS?Grads To Host Reunion
The Southwestern Central High School Class of 1956 will have its annual reunion dinner at Alfie's Restaurant at 6 p.m. Saturday. Class members and guests are welcome to attend.
Skybar Benefit For CCHS Is Saturday
Anita Waistline, Miss Gay Jamestown Newcomer 2011-2012, in coordination with Liza Summers and STARZ, will host Applause 4 Paws, a benefit for the Chautauqua County Humane Society, at Skybar in Jamestown from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. Saturday. There will be a live show featuring the cast of STARZ as well as several performers from Erie and Buffalo. The benefit will feature a Chinese auction sponsored by area businesses and giveaways, with all proceeds to benefit the Chautauqua County Humane Society. There is a $5 cover charge.
Children's Carnival Is Saturday
CASSADAGA - The Cassadaga Community Baptist Church will hold a children's carnival from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday for children in prekindergarten through fifth grade. Children attending should wear appropriate clothing and shoes for water games.
Route 60 Work Begins Saturday
ELLICOTT - Route 60 in Ellicott from the Jamestown city line to Kimball Drive will be reduced to one lane in each direction beginning Wednesday between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. Work-zone flaggers will be directing traffic. The work is expected to last six weeks, but may be delayed in the event in inclement weather.
Frewsburg Story Time Starts June 28
FREWSBURG - Preschool story time will be held in the Myers Memorial Library from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursdays beginning on June 28 and ending July 26. Stories, crafts and other activities are featured during the five-week period. The theme on Wednesday is "Lions and Tigers and Bears. Oh My!" No registration is required.
