VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - Liberty Tax Service has honored Richard and Ulla Brostrom, local franchisee as a 2012 Top Gun office at its 2012 International Convention in Virginia Beach, Va. This award recognizes the Brostroms as one of Liberty's outstanding franchisee's based on customer service, franchise rank, growth, profitability, customer retention, preparer compliance, training and internal corporate recommendations. Less than 5 percent of Liberty's 1,600 franchise owners operating over 4,200 U.S. and Canadian offices qualify for the Top Gun award.

The Brostrom's opened the Liberty Tax Service office in 2002 in its present location in the Family Dollar Plaza on Second Street. Richard Brostrom is a graduate of Kent State University with BBA in marketing and Ulla is a graduate of the Copenhagen School of Business. Both spent several years in a family retail business operating multiple stores in New York and Pennsylvania. In 1975, Richard left the family business and began a 25-year career in the commercial insurance industry while Ulla continued to operate stores in Pennsylvania. For several years Brostrom taught the New York State property and casualty agent's and broker's pre-licensing course at JCC and continues to teach a federal income tax course each fall.
