Gerry Fire Auxiliary To Meet Tonight

The Gerry Volunteer Fire Auxiliary will meet for its annual summer picnic at 6:30 p.m. today in the home of Lori Lindsley, Gerry Levant Road, next to the old Gerry school. Members attending should take a dish to pass. This is the last meeting until September.

Seniors To Meet

Celoron-West Ellicott Seniors will meet at noon Wednesday in the Lakewood Rod and Gun Club pavilion. Members attending should take a tureen to share, their table service and beverage. John and Harriet Smith and Adrian Smith are the serving committee. Forty-nine seniors attended a recent meeting. Southwestern Middle School chorus, directed by Darlene Hetrick, provided entertainment. Andy Johnson was introduced as a guest. Reports were approved as read. Celebrating birthdays were Earl Inwood, Peg Kerr and Dorothy Lindstrom. John and Harriet Smith observed their 60th wedding anniversary. The meeting closed with song.

Quilt Bee To Be Held Saturday

The Leon Historical Society will hold an English and Amish quilt bee from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday in the Leon Historical Church at the four corners, Route 62, Leon. Featured will be demonstrations on how quilting is done, exhibiting on patterns and Amish and English crafters will be set up with their exhibits. Refreshments and an Amish baked goods sale will be available. The museum will also be open. For more information, contact Pat Bromley at 296-5709.
