Outdoor Club Plans Outing
From Sunday through Tuesday, the Allegheny Outdoor Club will kayak and camp on the Allegheny Reservoir. Participants will meet at the home of Ron and Sharon Johnson at 6632 Scandia Road, Russell, at 1:30 p.m. From there they will drive to Webbs Ferry Boat Launch to put-in, then kayak to Hooks Brook Campground. Campers should bring a dish to pass and beverages for two suppers; hot dogs and buns will be provided. Campers should also bring their breakfasts and lunches and camping gear for primitive camping. SUGAR GROVE - Sugar Grove AMVETS Post 50 Auxiliary will host a Father's Day breakfast buffet from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Sunday. The public is welcome to attend.
Group To Host Recognition
LILY DALE - The Lily Dale Children's Committee is inviting those responsible for the recent playground refurbishment project to gather at the Lily Dale Children's Acre at 3:30 p.m. Monday for playground tours, fellowship and fun. The site is located next to the Andrew Jackson Davis Lyceum on East Street. All those who contributed materials, resources and efforts, including the Cassadaga Job Corps, businesses, organizations and the Lily Dale community, will be recognized at the event, according to Willa White, committee chairperson. In case of rain, the event will be held at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.
County Road To Be Repaired
STOCKTON - County crews will be performing repairs on Kabob-Cassadaga Road (County Route 71) in the town of Stockton between Luce Road and Maple Avenue starting Monday for approximately three days. The section of road will be open for local traffic only. A detour will not be posted.
Cub Scout Enrollment Set
CASSADAGA - Cassadaga Cub Scout Pack 219 is holding an open enrollment night for Cub Scouts at 6 p.m. Monday, at Cassadaga American Legion Post 1280, 228 Maple Ave., Cassadaga. Swiss Steak Dinner Planned
CHERRY CREEK - The Cherry Creek/Leon United Methodist Church will hold a swiss steak dinner beginning at 4:30 p.m. today. The meal includes beverages and a homemade dessert. The cost is a donation of $8 for adults; $6, children; family pricing available.
