Breast Cancer Group To Meet

The Breast Cancer Support Group of Jamestown will meet Wednesday at Friendly's. Dinner will be at 6 p.m. followed by the meeting and guest speakers at 7 p.m. Speakers are Kirstin Walker from the Chautauqua County Health Department, speaking about cancer services programs. Other speakers from the WCA Links Pink Walk will be Brad and Becky Van Riper and Karl Sisson. Anyone interested is welcome to attend. The group is open to new breast cancer patients and their caregivers. Button pins and pink light bulbs will be available at the meeting. Anyone attending should bring old buttons for the "HELP Button up Breast Cancer" project. The contact person to donate buttons is Pat Carr by calling 665-4343. All money raised stays in Chautauqua County to help local breast cancer patients.

Fireball Run

Photo Postponed

A community photo that will be used to promote the Fireball Run has been postponed because of weather until 3:30 Wednesday at Tracy Plaza. The public is welcome to attend in their work clothes, uniforms or everyday attire. The photo shouldn't take more than 20 minutes. Outdoor Club To Ride In?N. Warren

On Thursday, the Allegheny Outdoor Club will ride bikes on the North Warren Bike Trail. Participants will meet at the Russell Post Office at 5:30 p.m., ride to the bike trail and continue to the southern terminus then, after a stop at the Dairy Queen, return to Russell. For more information, call Pat Spicer at 814-757-8331 between 9 and 11 p.m.

Band Ice Cream Social Is Today

SINCLAIRVILLE - The Cassadaga Valley Jazz Band will hold its annual ice cream social from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the gazebo in Sinclairville's Minckler Commons park. The band will play a wide variety of jazz selections including soloists and vocals. Brownie and ice cream sundaes, cones and other treats will be available as a fundraiser for the group.

Common Council To Meet Wednesday

SALAMANCA - The Salamanca Common Council will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday in the new courtroom at the rear of the municipal building. The mayor and Common Council will hold a work session prior to the regular meeting at 5:30 p.m.

Worship Celebration Begins Thursday

Healing Word Ministries will host ACTS, a Pentecostal experience, at 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday. The two-day celebration will include worship led by Rose Clarke. Dennis Brown, Charlotte, N.C. Healing Rooms director, will be the guest speaker. Both evenings will include local speakers who will share personal experiences of healing and deliverance. Kennedy?Library Accepting Donations

KENNEDY - The Kennedy Free Library is accepting donations of gently used books and DVDs for its annual book sale. The sale will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 16, at the Kennedy Fire Hall and will also include a bake sale and can drive. For more information, call the library at 267-4265.
