BUFFALO (AP) - Buffalo Sabres broadcaster Rick Jeanneret and Canadian-based columnist and author Roy MacGregor will be recognized as Hockey Hall of Fame media honorees.

Jeanneret, the Sabres' play-by-play voice for more than 40 years, has been selected by the NHL Broadcasters' Association to receive the Foster Hewitt Memorial Award. Jeanneret's known for many memorable calls, including "La-la-la-la-Fontaine!" whenever former Sabres captain Pat LaFontaine scored.

MacGregor, who currently works for the Toronto-based Globe and Mail newspaper, was selected by the Professional Hockey Writers' Association to receive the Elmer Ferguson Memorial Award for excellence in hockey journalism. He's had several books published, the most recent, "Wayne Gretzky's Ghost: And Other Tales from a Lifetime in Hockey.

Both will be honored at the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto on Nov. 12.
