Despite raising more than $120,000 to cover its projected 2012-13 deficit, the Catholic Academy of the Holy Family is preparing to close its doors.
Cynthia Zuech, parents association co-president for the school, said that the board voted unanimously to keep the school open. However, Tuesday afternoon, parents received letters from the Diocese of Buffalo stating that the school would be closing.
"We are heartbroken over the loss of this school," Mrs. Zuech said.
A full report will be available in Wednesday's edition of The Post-Journal.
