To the Readers' Forum:
It saddens me to drive through Jamestown and see more and more houses being condemned weekly. The DJDC has great ideas to bring tourists into town, but none to keep residents here.
The city could auction these house to people for $1000 or less, giving owners incentive to clean up and stay here. Condemned houses are a hazard to public safety and an eyesore to visitors.
Come on Jamestown, get it together, get back to basics! You can't revitalize a town or expect outsiders to visit, if residents don't even want to stay.
