Helping Hands To Hold Bag Sale
Community Helping Hands, located in the Gateway Center, 31 Water St., Jamestown, will hold its monthly bag sale from Tuesday through Friday, June 8, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. as well as 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, June 9. County Planning To Meet Tuesday

Annual Meeting Set For June 20
On Wednesday, June 20, the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation will hold its annual meeting at Bethel Lutheran Church, 904 W. Third St., Jamestown. Guests are asked to use the Cook Street entrance. The meeting will begin at noon. Elections will be held and reports given. The public is welcome to attend.
Extension Given For Walk Signup
The Salvation Army Anew Center has extended its pre-registration for the 5K Anew Run/Walk to noon on Monday. Anyone pre-registering will receive a free T-shirt. The walk will be held Saturday, June 9. Registration is from 7:30 to 9 a.m. in the Salvation Army gymnasium with the run and walk starting at 9:30 a.m. There is a $20 registration fee for the run/walk, with participants encouraged to get sponsors. VA Health Care Courses Set
A Western New York Healthcare System will host two events in Chautauqua County to help veterans learn about Veterans Administration health care and other benefits. The first meeting will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the VA Community Based Outpatient Clinic, 166 E. Fourth St., Dunkirk, with the second at the VA Community Based Outpatient Clinic, 608 W. Third St., Jamestown, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, June 9. Veterans are encouraged to attend one of the events to learn more about benefits that may be available. The Department of Veterans Affairs, along with New York state and Chautauqua County counselors, will be on hand and available to answer questions. Historical Society To Meet Tuesday
SINCLAIRVILLE - The Valley Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. on Tuesday in the museum at the corner of Main and Lester streets, Sinclairville. Mildred Simpson of Westfield will present a program about her great uncle Myron Turner from Jamestown, who served with the Army of the Potomac during the Civil War. Titled "Remembrances" it is a short history of Turner's days during the Civil War written after he returned home.
