Those who read Dave Emke's "Editor's Note" on Saturday know he has left The Post-Journal to take a job at one of our sister papers.
That left the family editor position open, which I gladly accepted.
There are always pros and cons to taking a new job.

The family desk is a little farther from my apartment than the features/entertainment desk, adding about five seconds to my daily commute. I can no longer see town and villages reporter Remington Whitcomb unless he walks around the corner. I'll let you decide if that's a positive or a negative change.
The new title means I won't be writing this column for much longer; I'll be moving my thoughts over to the "Editor's Note" each Saturday, and a newcomer will take charge of this.
I probably still have another column or two left in the tank, but we'll see what happens.
In the meantime, here's what's going on in the area:
HIGHLIGHTS
Drama Club To Perform Tonight: A group of Jamestown High School students will take the Reg Studio Theatre stage tonight to perform original comedy. Drama Club will perform at 6:30. The show is free and open to the public.
Hosted and performed entirely by students, this show will shape audience suggestions into scenes, games and more as new characters come alive.
Drama Club started in 2008 to offer Jamestown High School students training in acting, improvisation and classic drama. Teaching artists including Dana Block, Dennis Drew, Cindy Riggle and the late John Blackman have each put their stamp on the group. Over the years, participants have performed Shakespeare, commedia-dell'arte, contemporary and classic short plays, and monologues.
Since 2010, Chautauqua Theater Company and Unexpected Guests member Timothy Smeal has guided the Drama Club. A core group of students who began with Smeal have remained active throughout his tenure. This group includes Rachael Arce, Sofia Berry, Kassandra Kum and Kendra Wood.
Drama Club is part of an after-school program funded by 21st Century Community Learning Centers through a partnership with the Arts Council for Chautauqua County. Visual, performing and media arts are taught after school in Jamestown's elementary, middle and high schools. Off-site instruction is offered at the Boys and Girls Club and Eastside YMCA.
Reg Studio Theatre is located at 108 E. Third St., Jamestown. For more information, visit artscouncil.com.
Winter Garden To Screen Film Saturday: The Jamestown Renaissance Corporation will screen "Hoosiers" in the Winter Garden Plaza at 9 p.m. Saturday. The movie screening will follow the day's Street Jam activities and the And 1 Streetball Tour game at the Jamestown Savings Bank Arena.
"We received positive feedback regarding the movies screened at the plaza in 2011," said Jason Stronz, JRC executive director. "We are happy to be partnering with the Resource Center and the Jamestown Savings Bank Arena to culminate a day of basketball and activity in the downtown."
Stronz said he anticipates JRC will screen movies monthly this summer.
"The space has continued to develop, and ongoing programmatic activity will only enhance its appeal as a place to gather downtown," he said. "We are hoping to screen a community-choice movie in July and are fortunate to once again partner with the Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz Center to show films during its festival of comedy."
Admission to Saturday's screening will be free. Seating is not provided. Attendees can bring snacks. Alcohol is prohibited in the main courtyard area. Visit jrconline.org for more information.
Filsinger Games Announces Partnership: Ring of Honor and Filsinger Games have announced they will be teaming up to release a Ring of Honor wrestling card game. The 24-card introductory box set is due for release in November. It will feature favorites from the ROH roster on full-color playing cards in a fast-paced, all-action card game. Filsinger Games, owned by Jamestown's Tom Filsinger, has been producing wrestling cards games such as "Champions of the Galaxy" and "Legends of Wrestling" since 1987.
