Trail Riders To Hold Meeting
The Chautauqua County Trail Riders is hosting its annual meet and greet at the club grounds on Sunday. The club is located on Gerry-Levant Road in Falconer with access from Interstate 86 or Route 60. The day starts at 10 a.m. with a two-hour trail ride on club trails followed by a cowboy lunch at the end of the ride. There will be discussions on some interesting subjects plus more information on the Supreme Horse Event schedules for September 22, a new event to the area being held for the first time at the Chautauqua County Trail Riders. Thrift Shop To Feature Toys
St. Luke's Thrift Shop at 409 Pine St., Jamestown, is featuring toys this week. Shoppers will find them on the porch and inside on the first floor. The shop also has newly arrived maternity clothes and many markdowns on ladies' clothing. The shop is open 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday and Friday and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. Receiving is 9 a.m. to noon on Tuesday or any day the shop is open for business. Parking is available in the church parking lot just off of 5th Street. St. Luke's Thrift Shop is non-profit and run by volunteers including those from RSVP.
Legion Post To Hold Breakfast
The breakfast committee from the Herman Kent American Legion Post 777 in Celoron, is holding a monthly breakfast at the post on Sunday. Breakfast will be a full buffet with eggs, home fries, sausage, ham, french toast, sausage gravy and danishes or a 777 three-egg omelet for only $5 per person. The meal will be served from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m.
Spring Cleanup Days Scheduled
The town of Harmony and village of Panama will hold Spring Cleanup days, Friday from 4 to 8 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Harmony transfer station, 1001 Blockville-Watts Flats Road. Electronics and tires will not be accepted. Those items can be taken to the Ellery Landfill on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. or the Sherman Landfill Tuesdays and Saturdays from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Driving Courses Set For Saturday
LAKEWOOD - A pre-licensing and defensive driving course will be held Saturday at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church. Pre-registration begins at 8:30 with the courses held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. For more information, call 716-777-3232.
Spring Concert Set For Sunday
The Jamestown Area Community Orchestra will present a spring concert at 4 p.m. on Sunday, in First Covenant Church, 520 Spring St., Jamestown, conducted by Andrew D. Coccagnia. There is no charge but a free will offering will be taken. The public is welcome to attend.
Outdoor Club To Hold Event
On Sunday, the Allegheny Outdoor Club will kayak or canoe 10 miles on the Clarion River from the Route 899 put-in to the Route 36 bridge. Participants will meet at Howe's True Value at 1 p.m. or at the put-in at 2 p.m. In case of rain, the event will be canceled. For more information, call Dennis Anderson in Jamestown at 483-2288.
