Boater Safety Course Available

The Chautauqua County Office of the Sheriff will be holding a boater's safety course fro 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at St. Timothy's Church, 3748 Route 430, Bemus Point. There is no pre-registration required and the courses are free to anyone under the age of 18. Those age 18 and over will have to pay a $10 fee to New York state prior to receiving the certification card. The class is required for anyone age 10 to 18 who wants to operate a vessel and for everyone ages 14 and up, including adults, to legally operate a personal watercraft.

Cemetery Assoc. To Hold Meeting

The Fluvanna Cemetery Association will hold it's annual meeting at the Fluvanna Cemetery Association building on the cemetery grounds Wednesday at 7 p.m. All lot owners and families are welcome to attend. In preparation for Memorial Day, all worn or out-of-season decorations that remain will be removed by cemetery personnel.

Book Sale Set For Saturday

CLYMER - The Clymer-French Creek Free Library will have a book sale Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Annual Rummage Sale On Saturday

LAKEWOOD - Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 35 W. Fairmount Ave., will host its annual rummage and baked goods sale Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The sale will include housewares, clothes, toys, furniture and books. All proceeds will benefit the ELCA World Hunger Fund, the Joint Neighborhood Project and the Lake Chautauqua Lutheran Center.

Library Board To Meet Thursday

FREWSBURG - The Myers Memorial Library Board of Trustees meeting will be held Thursday at 6:30 p.m. in the library's community room.The public is welcome to attend.

Federal Employees Chapter To Meet

The National Active and Retired Federal Employees association chapter 267 will meet at 11 a.m. Friday at Friendly's for their bi-monthly meeting. In addition to the regular business meeting, a representative from 4 Seasons Nursery and Garden Center will give a presentation on local gardens. Active and retired federal employees are invited to bring their garden questions and join the group for lunch or dessert. Donna Dort, past president; Arnie Zdrojewski, president; and Marie Couchman, secretary, will join with NARFE members from across New York State at the bi-annual conference next week.

YWCA To Hold Annual Sale

The YWCA Jamestown will be holding its annual Trash and Treasure Sale at the YWCA Lake Lodge, 185 E. Terrace Ave., Lakewood on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. The YWCA is accepting all donations at its 401 N. Main St. site in Jamestown from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Most larger items can be scheduled for pick up by calling Beth Oakes at 488-2237. All donations are tax deductible.

Thule Lodge To Hold Services

BEMUS POINT - The Thule Lodge, 4123 Pancake Hill Road, will hold its annual Memorial Day service Saturday at the lodge. The regular business meeting will be held first at 2 p.m., then the memorial service will be held. Carnations will be placed in memory of those lodge members who passed away in the last year. Members, family and friends are welcome to attend.
