Local Author To Visit Library

MAYVILLE - Local author S.D. Shields will visit the Mayville Library on Tuesday, from 6 to 8 p.m. She will be signing copies of her book, Mikado's Secret. Please phone the library for more information at 753-7362.

Auxiliary To Host Sunday Brunch

AMVETS Auxiliary 726 is hosting a Mother's Day pancake brunch at the ILS Veterans Club, 364 Fluvanna Ave., Jamestown from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. A variety of pancake entrees will be available along with our regular breakfast features. Cost is $7 for ages 10 to adult, $4 for children ages 4 through 9, and under 4 eat for free. Proceeds from this brunch will benefit Honor Flight, a program which provides our war veterans a cost-free trip to Washington, D.C. to visit our national war memorials. The public is welcome. We also invite any eligible individuals to inquire about membership in AMVETS, Sons of AMVETS, or AMVETS Ladies Auxiliary. Information is available at the post.

Ross Grange To Host Writers

FALCONER - The Ross Grange will host 4-H members and their families who wrote essays about their meat animal project. A tureen supper will be held at 6:30 p.m. Monday followed by the program and the business meeting. Each winner will receive a check from the grange to help with expenses of raising their animal. The animals will be auctioned at the 4-H meat animal sale at the Chautauqua County Fair in Dunkirk in July. The public is always welcome to join the fellowship and learn more about 4-H as well as the grange. Meetings are held at the Falcon's Nest Banquet Hall, 2001 E. Main St., Falconer.

Museum To Host Nostalgia Night

LAKEWOOD - The Lakewood Museum will hold its fourth Nostalgia Night. Anyone attending should bring a special story about the village of Lakewood and share it with their neighbors. Nostalgia Night will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, at the Busti-Lakewood Recreation Center. Admission is free. Light refreshments will be served.

Olean Area Stamp Club To Meet

OLEAN - Beginners, intermediate and advanced stamp collectors who want to broaden their collecting experiences are invited to attend a meeting of the Olean Area Stamp Club on Monday in the Bethany Lutheran Church, 6 Leo Moss Drive, Olean; take Exit 25 off I-86 and proceed one block east. The club and its activities will be highlighted and the president and club members will be available to answer questions. A spring auction will be held and refreshments served. Dickson Park Meeting Set

A neighborhood meeting of the Lillian Dickson Park project has been scheduled for Tuesday from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Lillian Dickson Park on Falconer Street in Jamestown. The group will be finalizing details for the Hands On Jamestown event May 19, with plans to spruce up the park and the surrounding neighborhood as part of the citywide clean-up. Interested residents of the neighborhoods around the park are encouraged to attend to learn more about the efforts underway to improve Lillian Dickson Park. Representatives from various community organizations will be at the meeting, and children are welcome.
