Sherman Assessor Changes Date

SHERMAN - The date for the assessor to be in attendance with the Sherman tentative assessment roll has been changed from Tuesday, May 8, to Tuesday, May 15 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. For more information, call Brenda M. Stebbins, town assessor, at 769-7125.

Blood Drive To Be Held Wednesday

CASSADAGA - The Cassadaga Fire Department Auxiliary will hold a Community Blood Bank blood drive from 3 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Cassadaga Community Building/Fire Hall on Mill Street in Cassadaga. The auxiliary has donated and will select someone from the participants to receive a $25 gift card from Kwik Fill.

Little Valley Court Building Closed

LITTLE VALLEY - The Cattaraugus County Courthouse in Little Valley will be closed to the public today due to extensive water damage. All Surrogate Court and Supreme and County Court cases scheduled in Little Valley for today have been adjourned. The Cattaraugus County Family Court in Olean remains open to the public.

Church To Host Rummage Sale

CASSADAGA - The Cassadaga Community Baptist Church, 25 Maple Ave., Cassadaga, will hold its annual rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday in the church fellowship hall. Items being sold will be displayed on the tables in the hall. The public is welcome to attend.

War Vets Karaoke Contest Is May 19

The War Vets is having a karaoke contest to benefit its pool fund at 8 p.m. Saturday, May 19, and Sunday, May 20. The entry fee is $20. Registration is due by Thursday, May 17. Prizes will be awarded. Entry forms are available at the club, 3431 Fluvanna Ave.

Retired Teachers Meeting Is May 21

The spring meeting and luncheon of the Southern Chautauqua County Retired Teachers' Association will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday, May 21, at Zion Covenant Church. The meeting will include the introduction of the association's scholarship winner, recognition of members who have celebrated their 85th birthdays in the past year, a memorial service for deceased members and a presentation by a former scholarship winner, Caitlin Salter. Reservations should be made by Wednesday by contacting John Ireland at 484-8397.

Outdoor Club Slates Bike Rides

On Thursday, the Allegheny Outdoor Club will ride bikes in the Frewsburg area. Participants will meet at the Jamestown Audubon Center at 5:30 p.m. For more information, call Pat Spicer at 814-757-8331 between 9 and 11 p.m. On Sunday, the club will ride bikes on the Justus Trail in Oil City. Participants will meet at Betts Park at 1:30 p.m. or at the Justus Trail trailhead in Oil City at 2:30 p.m. For more information, call Earl Ross at 814-726-3920.
