The town of Poland Seniors will meet for a potluck lunch on May 16 in the Kennedy Fire Hall. Members attending should take a dish to pass and their own table service. Rosemarie Cornell and Bonnie Piazza are the committee.
Eva Baker, president, led grace, the flag salute and song at a recent dinner meeting, catered by 3C's Catering and attended by 71 members. Lou Ball accompanied on piano. Bob Cross called tables. Bob and Sally Canniff, Cliff and Liz Barnes, Vall Nunn, Marilyn Johnson, and Ray and Barb Wiltsie were the committee.
Carolyn Boehler was welcomed as a new member. Reports by the secretary and treasurer were approved as read. A moment of silent prayer was held for deceased members.
Celebrating birthdays were Sally Canniff, Ben Morey and Doris Overend. Wedding anniversaries were observed by Ron and Eva Baker, 56 years, and Walt and Julie Heilman, 48 years.
Ms. Canniff, chairwoman, spoke on the trip to Hidden Valley Adventure, which was canceled due to inclement weather and rescheduled for May; and the June 12 trip to Amish Experience in Middlefield, Ohio, with payment due at the May meeting.
Officers were elected. They are Ms. Baker, president; Roland Swanson, vice president; Betty Willover, secretary; and Shirley Covey, treasurer.
Marie Hanson and Mary Petsch of the Sparrows Nest, a crafting guild at Levant Wesleyan Church, spoke on the crafts made and donated to several charities. They also stated that donations of items and supplies are always needed. For more information, call 665-4402.
