Nancy Holthouse, YWCA of Jamestown employee, recently earned Making A Difference recognition.

Holthouse has been employed at the YWCA of Jamestown more than 20 years in the child care department. Holthouse works as the head teacher in the Bumblebear Room for children between the ages of 6 and 18 months. Prior to that, Holthouse worked in the 3-year-old classroom.

Holthouse started working in the Bumblebear Room six years ago as a "fill in" for a maternity leave, and later found that she liked it and has been the head teacher ever since. She graduated from Clymer Central High School, and later received an associate degree in applied science in human services.

Holthouse said she enjoys working in day care because, "it is fun to work with the infants every day and rewarding to see them learn and grow. Some children have been in our program from infants to school age. Also, I have great people to work with every day."

In her leisure time, Holthouse enjoys biking, scrapbooking, taking walks and spending time with her nieces.
