Daniel and Diane MacEwan of Spencerport, N.Y., announce the engagement of their daughter, Colleen, to Stephen Thorndike, the son of Evelyn Thorndike of Dewittville, N.Y., and the late Samuel Thorndike.
Miss MacEwan is a 2002 graduate of Brockport High School and the State College at Geneseo with a bachelor's degree in elementary and special education and a master's degree in reading and literacy education. She is employed as a teacher at St. Pius Tenth School in Chili, N.Y. Her fiance is a 1999 graduate of Chautauqua Lake Central High School and Alfred University with a bachelor's degree in physics and astronomy. He earned two masters degrees from the University of Rochester in physics and astronomy and in secondary science education. He is employed developing and teaching science curricula at BOCES 2 in Spencerport.
A July 2012 wedding is planned.
