Cornell Co-Op To Meet Monday
The next meeting of the Cornell Cooperative Extension Chautauqua County board of directors will be at 7 p.m. Monday at the Frank Bratt Agricultural Center, 3542 Turner Road, Jamestown. The public is welcome to attend.
Area Gospel Group To Perform
The 16th annual Jamestown Harmony Express Barbershop Gospel and Sacred Concert will feature For His Glory, an area gospel quartet, at 7:30 p.m. tonight at Christ First United Methodist Church, located at the corner of Lakeview Avenue and Buffalo Street, Jamestown. Also appearing will be area folk artist Bill Ward, pianist Brett Heintzman, the Jamestown Harmony Express Chorus and other quartets. Tickets are available from all chorus members and are $10 pre-sale or $12 at the door. Groups of 10 or more can buy tickets for $8 pre-sale. Lakewood Legion To Host Dinner
The Lakewood American Legion, 174 Chautauqua Ave., will hold a chicken and biscuits dinner at 2 p.m. Sunday. Music will be provided by Toucan Jam from 4 to 7 p.m.
Landfill Public Hearing Set
Chautauqua County Legislator Vince Horrigan and George Spanos, county director of public facilities, will co-host a public forum on the Chautauqua County Landfill at 7 p.m. Tuesday evening at the Town of Ellery building on Sunnyside Avenue in Bemus Point. A presentation on the landfill will be made on various topics including operations, monitoring, reporting, and environmental safeguards. The public is invited to attend.
Historical Society To Hold Bake Sale
SINCLAIRVILLE - The Valley Historical Society will hold a bake sale starting at 11 a.m. Sunday, at the Sinclairville Fire Hall. There will be a variety of baked goods available. All proceeds will benefit the Sinclairville History Fair.
YMCA To Hold Baby-Sitting Clinic
The Jamestown YMCA will hold its next YMCA baby-sitting clinic for boys and girls between the ages of 11 and 16 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 5, at the Jamestown YMCA. The clinic will instruct participants about the responsibilities involved in caring for younger children including child development, safety and emergency response. The clinic is taught by experienced instructors who have knowledge in child development, health and overall care of children. Participants should bring a brown bag lunch. Space is limited. Registrations cannot be taken over the phone but can be made at the YMCA Welcome Center one week prior to the clinic. Two Blood Drives To Be Held
The Community Blood Bank will hold two blood drives in the area on Monday and Tuesday. From 3 to 6 p.m. Monday, the blood bank will hold a blood drive at the Frewsburg American Legion. From 8 a.m. to noon Tuesday, the blood bank will host a drive in the WCA Hospital auditorium. No appointment is necessary.
