Ted and Ruth Anderson of the Edgewood Community apartments on the campus of Lutheran Social Services, Jamestown, N.Y., celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on April 17, 2012, with an open house at the Rosch Activity Center in Jamestown. The celebration was hosted by their son, David (Crystal) Anderson of Columbia City, Ind.; their grandsons: Gregg (Monique) of Telluride, Colo., Chris (Erin) of New York City, and Matt (Laura) of Lakewood, Colo.; and their great-grandchildren: Bodee of Lakewood, Colo., and Ava of New York City.
Anderson and the former Ruth Melquist were married April 17, 1942, in the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Jamestown, N.Y. The Rev. Roy F. Thelander performed the ceremony. Florence Kling and C. Leonard Swanson were attendants.
Anderson is a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army Air Force, and retired from the Jamestown Post Office.
