The Harmony Senior Citizens will meet at 5 p.m. on Thursday, May 3, in the Panama United Methodist Church for a soup, sub and dessert dinner. The cost to each person is $6, and reservations must be given to Lester Wevers at 782-3131 no later than Tuesday. The officers will serve as the food and decoration committee.
Recently, the seniors met for their monthly meeting. Pauline Edsall opened the meeting with the lunch prayer and led the flag salute.
Birthdays were celebrated by Beulah "Boots" Ecker, Eugene Erb, Joanne Fisher, Ruth Huthman, Beverly Lindstrom, Keith Miller, Tracey Mingle, Sharon Nutt, Freda Palmer, Donna Peterson, Mary Lou Stevens, Don Sturges, Elinor Sturges, Jean Trisket, Jean Vanderkooi and Lester Wevers, who was the eldest in attendance. Ellen and Marion Coffaro, Delores and Chuck Ellis, June and John Federko, and Wendie and Stephen Raynor celebrated their anniversaries.
Following lunch, Rosalie Logue, president, conducted the business meeting. It was announced that the United Senior Council will hold a trivia contest at the North Harmony Senior Center on Thursday, May 10, at 1 p.m. Members are encouraged to attend.
Dottie Enlow gave a trip report. Money is due for the African Lion Safari trip by Tuesday, May 1. Those going on this trip are required to have an enhanced NYS driver's license or passport.
Members were reminded that the monthly meetings from May through October begin at 5 p.m.
Entertainment for the afternoon was the Tanglewood Golden Gems.
