Sean Breen and Monica Payne, and Tracie Breen, all of Jamestown, N.Y., announce the engagement of their daughter, Mercedes Breen, to Joshua Gonzalez, the son of Luis Gonzalez and Sylvia Nunez of Jamestown, N.Y. Miss Breen is also the granddaughter of Cindy and Steve Hosack of Jamestown, N.Y.; Lee-Ann Howard of Kennedy, N.Y.; and Dan Howard of Ellington, N.Y.
Miss Breen is a 2009 graduate of Jamestown High School, earned an associate degree in liberal arts and science in 2011 from Jamestown Community College, and is pursuing a degree in childhood inclusive education at the State University at Fredonia. She is employed by the Winifred Crawford Dibert Boys and Girls Club of Jamestown and the Jamestown YMCA. Her fiance is a 2010 graduate of Jamestown High School in 2010, a 2012 graduate of Jamestown Community College, and will be pursuing a degree in criminal justice from the State University at Fredonia. He is employed by the Jamestown YMCA.
An Aug. 10, 2012, wedding is planned.
