Tenebrae Service Set For Thursday
ASHVILLE - The Blockville United Methodist Church will hold a Maundy Thursday Tenebrae service at 6:30 p.m. Thursday. The service includes Holy Communion. A number of readings follow to portray Christ's pain and suffering the day of his crucifixion. The public is invited to attend.
Carroll Sets
Easter Egg Hunt
FREWSBURG - The town of Carroll Easter egg hunt will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, at the Frewsburg High School football field. The hunt is for children in pre-school through sixth grade. In case of inclement weather, the hunt will be held inside the school.
Surf And Turf Dinner Is Friday
LAKEWOOD - The Lakewood Legion will host a surf and turf dinner from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday with the Rustic Ramblers performing from 7 to 11 p.m. On Saturday, the post will host its member's only children's Easter party from 1 to 3 p.m. with an egg hunt, snacks and the chance to win a new bicycle. Members can sign up their children and grandchildren at the post.
Lakewood Library Hosts Exhibit
LAKEWOOD - Marian Aranyos of Warren and Debra Tordoff of Ellington are featured in a two-woman art exhibit, "Visions and Vessels" at the Lakewood Memorial Library, 12 W. Summit Ave., Lakewood, throughout April. Aranyos is showing her watercolors and new dyed paper collages while Todoff, new to the gallery scene, is displaying for the first time her woodburned and handpainted gourds. The library opens at 9:30 a.m. Monday through Saturday and closes at 5 p.m. Monday and Wednesday, 7 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday and 1 p.m. Saturday. The library is closed Sundays. The show closes April 28.
Maundy Thursday Service Set
MAYVILLE - St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Elm and East Marvin streets, Mayville, will hold a Maundy Thursday service at 7 p.m. Thursday in the fellowship room. A Good Friday Tenebrae service will be at 7 p.m. Friday in the sanctuary.

Zion Covenant Church will host a combined traditional Maundy Thursday service with First Covenant Church at 7 p.m. Thursday. The service will feature the last supper remembrance special choral music and Communion. Pastor Steve Kilburn will present the message ''In It With Jesus - In the Garden.'' Choir anthems will include ''Into the Woods My Master Went'' by Austin Lovelace and ''When We Meet At Your Table, Lord'' by Deborah Govenor. The public is welcome to attend.
Celoron Egg Hunt Rescheduled
CELORON - The village of Celoron, the Chautauqua Lake Fishing Association and the Lakewood Celoron Loyal Order of Moose 2587 will hold its rescheduled annual Children's Easter egg hunt Saturday in Lucille Ball Memorial Park. Each child can register to win a bike. Registration for the bike drawings will be held between 9 and 10 a.m. at the Community Center, 47 Dunham Ave., Celoron. One bike will be given away in each of the following age categories: 1-3; 4-6; 7-9; and 10-12. The ''Easter Bunny'' will arrive on a Celoron Hose Company No. 1 Fire Truck. The Easter egg hunt will start at 10 a.m.
