BPU To Close On Good Friday
The Jamestown Board of Public Utilities will be closed Friday in observance of the Easter holiday. Garbage collection will take place on the regular schedule of normal Monday through Friday pick-up. The recyclables for the week are paper and corrugated cardboard. Trouble calls for any department at all hours may be reported to 661-1640. The BPU's Customer Service office will also be closed Friday. Bill payments may be made at drop boxes located at the top of the D driveway at the BPU, on Tracy Plaza at City Hall, in the Jamestown Police Department vestibule on Second Street and at the Town of Ellicott Building. The BPU's Customer Service re-opens for business at 7 a.m. Monday.
Thrift Shop To Close Holy Week
St. Luke's Thrift Shop at 409 Pine St., Jamestown, is closed Thursday, Friday and Saturday for Holy Week and will reopen April 12 with regular weekly hours. Hours are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays. The shop receives gently used and clean merchandise on Tuesdays 9 a.m. to noon and on the days it is open for business. Parking is available in the parking lot off of Fifth between Main and Pine. The shop is staffed by volunteers and proceeds are donated to local outreach.
Fellowship To Sponsor Egg Hunt
The East Side Fellowship Club will sponsor its 61st annual Easter egg hunt at 10 a.m. Saturday in College Park, Jamestown. The event is open to children ages 11 and under.
Combined Choirs To Perform Easter
STOW - The combined choirs of the Magnolia, North Harmony and Open Meadows United Methodist churches, directed by Mary Jane Miller, will present the cantata "What a Great Savior" at 7 a.m. Easter sunrise service in the Magnolia United Methodist Church. Soloists are Tracy Brown, Juanita Jackson and Ron Miller. Pastor John Jackson will be the narrator. Breakfast will follow the performance. The public is invited to attend. Morning worship will be held in the North Harmony United Methodist Church at 9:30 a.m.; Open Meadows United Methodist Church at 9:45 a.m. and the Magnolia United Methodist Church at 11:15 a.m.
Library To Close This Weekend
FREWSBURG - The Myers Memorial Library will be closed Friday, April 6, and Saturday, April 7, for the Easter weekend. It will reopen on Monday, April 9, at the normal time of 1 p.m. Library hours are Monday through Wednesday from 1 to 8 p.m., Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Fridays from 2 to 5 p.m. and Saturdays 10 a.m. to noon. Bemus Point Auxiliary To Meet
BEMUS POINT - The Bemus Point VFW Post 557 Ladies Auxiliary will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 17, at the post. All members are encouraged to attend.
