Red Cross In Need Of Assistance

The Southwestern NY Chapter of the American Red Cross needs volunteers able to spend two or three hours a month at the Fralick Donation Center, 325 E. Fourth St., Jamestown, as well as at various mobile blood drives in many Chautauqua County communities. Responsibilities include helping blood donors register and serving refreshments to the donors after they donate. Most volunteer shifts are between two or three hours long. Easter Music Deadline Nears

Easter music submissions for Easter weekend church services should be submitted to The Post-Journal by Thursday, March 29. Submissions can be faxed to 664-5305 or emailed to cmurphy@post-journal.com

Video Store To Host Bakesale

Family Video, 605 N. Main St., Jamestown, is hosting a Round It Up For Lymphoma program in which the store asks customers if they will round their total up to the nearest dollar. Every penny donated benefits lymphoma research. Lymphoma is the most common blood cancer in adults and the third most common cancer overall among children. Every Family Video store across the country is trying to raise money to donate to the Lymphoma Research Foundation. Each store has a $1,300 goal. If each store reaches its goal, the company will raise $1 million. In addition to the Round It Up For Lymphoma program, the North Main Street Family Video store will hold a bake sale at the store on Saturday, March 31, during business hours.

Lakewood Seal Contest Ends Sat.

LAKEWOOD - The Lakewood Village Seal contest will end Sunday, March 31. Entry blanks and contest rules are available at DFT Communications in the Lakewood Village Center and Anthony C. Caprino Municipal Building, 20 W. Summit Ave., Lakewood. The winner of the contest will be announced in April and will receive a $300 gift certificate from DFT Communications.

Lenten Service To End Tomorrow

The First Presbyterian Church of Jamestown will present the last in a series of Lenten midweek services on Wednesday. Lucille Miller will preach on her "Faith After Fifty" at noon in the church's Bellinger Chapel. The church is located at 509 Prendergast Ave., Jamestown, and lunch will be served after worship in the fellowship hall.
