Parochial School System Does Not Disappoint

March 27, 2012

To the Readers' Forum:

I just want to express our experience with having our four children in the Catholic school system.

We raised our family in Binghamton, N.Y. and our children had the pleasure of a Catholic school education in grades kindergarten through 12. At the time they were in school, it was a difficult financial sacrifice for us to make this choice.

When I asked our son Brian, ''Was it worth the sacrifice to send the four of you through the parochial system?'' (He was in his early 20's when I asked this question). His response was, ''mom, they re-enforced everything you taught at home!'' Wow! Who could ask for anything more?

They are now in their 30's and 40's and each one has a college degree and are successful, well-adjusted young men and women. In addition, they all still go to church.

It is wonderful that this area has the Catholic Academy of the Holy Family. It is a remarkable school that offers a superb education with the plus of Catholicism!

I can only urge you, with the most sincere heart, to consider sending your children to the Catholic Academy of the Holy Family. You will not be disappointed.
