To the Readers' Forum:
If you have been following the school budget news for area school districts you already know that proposed teacher cuts will mean larger class sizes. At elementary level, your child learns the skills they will need to be successful lifetime learners. Don't get me wrong, I support the quality of public education and the hard working educators of our districts. Any educator will tell you that large class sizes, at any level, but especially at the elementary level, will affect student achievement.
If this concerns you, please consider Catholic Academy of the Holy Family School. They are striving for a class size of 12 students. They offer technology and foreign language studies starting in kindergarten. The quality of education is worth every penny that you pay, and it is not expensive for an average family. Please, visit the school and see for yourself all it has to offer.
