Dan and Gracie Nickerson Thies of Columbia, Ky., formerly of Jamestown, N.Y., celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a trip to Folly Beach, S.C. A family celebration will be held in June. They are the parents of Rob Thies of Ellendale, Minn., and Tracy Thies-Kiewiet of St. Charles, Mo. They also have four grandchildren.
They were married March 24, 1962, in First Covenant Church.
Thies retired from the New York State Police, Palatka Police Department and St. Johns River Community College. Mrs. Thies retired from the Putnam County Library System, Palatka, Fla.
