CATTARAUGUS - The Cattaraugus-Little Valley Central School Board of Education will hold a special meeting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday in the primary cafeteria on the Cattaraugus Campus. The board will discuss the latest draft of the district's 2012-13 budget. The public is welcome to attend.
Dickson Park Group Slates Meeting
The Chautauqua County Health Network's Creating Healthy Places to Live, Work and Play project will hold a community meeting regarding Lillian Dickson Park upgrades and improvements from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Eastside Family YMCA, 727 E. Second St., Jamestown. The meeting is open to all community members interested in improving Lillian Dickson Park, which is located at the corner of Falconer and Sturges Streets. The city of Jamestown, Jamestown Renaissance Corp. and Creating Healthy Places to Live, Work and Play are working together with neighbors to spearhead fundraising and community events. History Detectives Session?Is Saturday
The Fenton History Detectives will investigate early New York state history from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Fenton Mansion on Forest Avenue. The first colonies in America were built and settled along the coast and rivers. Gradually they pushed westward to the area where Chautauqua County now stands. The session will be filled with activities, games and a snack. All students in fourth through seventh grades are welcome to participate. The cost is $8 per student. Celoron To Present Budget March 26
CELORON - The Celoron Village Board will hold a special budget meting at 7 p.m. Monday, March 26. Mayor John Keeney will present the 2012-13 tentative budget to the board. No action will be taken by the board during the meeting.
Benefit Pool Event Is Sunday At The Q
A benefit pool tournament for the family of Jeff Kingsbury, who passed away last month, will be held Sunday, March 25, at The Q, 104 W. Second St., Jamestown. Registration will begin at 12:30 p.m. and the tournament will start at 1:30 p.m. The entry fee will be $10 and $2 green fees. Fifty percent of the benefit proceeds will go to Kingsbury's family, and 50 percent will be used for prize money. A Chinese auction will be included. For more information, call 483-6256.
Ellington Pantry To Hold Auction
ELLINGTON - The Ellington Community Food Pantry will hold a benefit spring auction Saturday, March 24, at the Ellington Fire Hall. Food will be available at 4 p.m. with the auction starting at 5 p.m. Merchandise available includes household items, collectibles, tools, clothing and food. The cost to attend is a donation. For each non-perishable food item donated, patrons will receive a free beverage. The auctioneer will be Ron Hennigh.
