St. Luke's To Hold Bag Sale

St. Luke's Thrift Shop, 409 Pine St., between Fourth and Fifth streets in Jamestown, is having a $2 bag sale from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday and 10 a.m. to noon on Friday. The shop will be closed Saturday, March 17, and will reopen Thursday, March 22, with spring items. The shop has a large selection of warm clothing on hand this week. Off-street parking is available in the church parking lot off of East Fifth Street. St. Luke's Thrift Shop is a nonprofit enterprise run by volunteers, many of whom are with RSVP. Proceeds are donated to local outreach programs.

Lakewood To Close Streets

LAKEWOOD - Portions of two streets in Lakewood will be closed between 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. today while water lines are replaced by Jamestown Board of Public Utilities Water Division employees. East Summit Avenue will be closed between Southland and Shadyside avenues. Southland Avenue also will be closed between Shadyside Avenue and First Street. Water also will be off on Southland Avenue between Shadyside Avenue and First Street while repairs are made. Discolored water may be expected from 4 p.m. Wednesday through Thursday morning after water is placed back in service.
