Local Church To Hold Revival
The Healing Word Ministries Church of God, 1006 W. Third St., Jamestown, will hold a revival at 7 p.m. Wednesday through Friday, March 14-16. Bishop Steve Smith will be the guest speaker.
Charter School Group To Meet
Classical Charter School, a proposed charter school for Jamestown and the surrounding area, will give a presentation at 7 p.m., March 16, in the Fireplace Room at the Prendergast Library, 509 Cherry St., Jamestown. Parents, grandparents, and all interested community members are invited. It is important to the chartering agency - the Board of Regents - that a potential charter school receives community interest and support.
Items Needed For Storm Victims
Four Seasons Nursery & Garden Center and the Harper family are collecting items to take to Indiana for victims of the recent tornadoes. They have been in contact with a church in Henryville, Ind. Items needed by families and volunteers include: non-perishable food items, tarps, cleaning supplies, safety glasses, baby supplies, gloves, paper towels, boots, toilet paper and personal care items. Any clothing that is donated needs to be clean and in good shape. Four Seasons officials said they want to get the items to volunteers as soon as possible. Donations can be taken to the Four Seasons Nursery & Garden Center, 3181 N. Main St. Ext., Jamestown, or Doug and Sue Harper, 4322 Hewes Road, Mayville. Memorial Benefit To Be Held
An over-21 benefit in memory of Frank Smeragliuolo will be held Sunday, March 18, from 1 to 10 p.m. at Shawbucks. The cost is $10. There will be food and a Chinese auction as well as several local bands including Shotgun Suite, Richie Leeper & Soul Revival, Smokehouse, the Porcelain Busdrivers, Mr. Magoo and Full Tractor.
