JHS Test Deposit Due By Friday

Any Jamestown High School student planning to sit for an Advanced Placement subject exam this year must submit a $13 deposit for each exam to Mrs. Ostrom in the Jamestown High School Guidance Department no later than Friday. Deposits may be paid with cash or check made out to Jamestown Public Schools. The total cost for each exam is $87 or $57 for students receiving free or reduced lunch. Parents may contact Mrs. Ostrom at 483-4358 with questions.

Frewsburg Board To Meet Thursday

FREWSBURG - The Frewsburg Central School Board of Education will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday in the middle/high school library. The public is welcome to attend.

Blackstone Avenue To Close

Blackstone Avenue will be closed to all traffic today from Buffalo Street 300 feet east while demolition crews demolish the former Dahlstrom Manufacturing complex. Drivers must use alternate routes.

Bridge Closed In Pomfret

POMFRET -Chautauqua County Bridge 958 on Webster Road, Pomfret, between Laona Road and Fredonia-Stockton Road, will be closed to all traffic from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. through Friday while water lines are replaced. A detour will not be posted.

Ladies Auxiliary Dinner Sunday

The AMVETS Post 726 Ladies Auxiliary is hosting its new monthly dinner featuring chicken and biscuits from 12:30 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the ILS Veterans Club, 364 Fluvanna Ave., Jamestown. The cost is $7 for those ages 10 and up, $5 for children between the ages of 4 to 9 and free for children under 4. Dessert is included. Proceeds will benefit local community and veteran's programs. The regular post meeting preceeds the dinner at noon. Any veterans interested in learning about AMVETS are invited to attend the meeting.

Ross Grange To Meet Monday

FALCONER - Ross Grange will observe Library Night at their meeting Monday. A tureen dinner will be at 6:30 p.m., followed by the meeting at 7:30 p.m. Four local libraries will be honored during the program. The rolled sugar cookie contest will also be held. Members should include five cookies on a plate and include the recipe. Items being collected are items for the Falconer Food Cupboard, Labels for Education and pop tabs for dialysis. A tureen dinner will be at 6:30 p.m. with beverages and table service provided. The program will follow the meal.

Historical Society Series Continues

BEMUS POINT - The Bemus Point Historical Society Guest Speakers Series continues Tuesday, March 13. Hanover town historian Vince Martonis will present Chautauqua County Curiosities beginning at 7 p.m. at the Bemus Point Historical Society Museum on Alburtus Ave in Bemus Point. There will be a brief business meeting followed by presentation. The event is open to the public.
