Railroad Board To Meet Monday
SALAMANCA - The Southern Tier Extension Railroad Authority board will meet from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Monday in the main conference room in the office of the Southern Tier West Regional Planning Board in the Center for Regional Excellence, 4039 Route 219, Suite 200, Salamanca. The authority's Audit Committee also will meet from 9 to 9:30 a.m. Monday in the small conference room in the office of the Southern Tier West Regional Planning Board while the authority's Governance Committee will also meet from 9 to 9:30 a.m. in the main conference room. All meetings are open to the public.
IDA?Committee To Meet Wednesday
The Chautauqua County Industrial Development Agency's Governance Committee will meet at 9 a.m. Wednesday, in the IDA offices, 200 Harrison St., Jamestown.
TEA?Party To Host Sen. Young
The Southern Tier TEA Party Patriots will hold a special meeting at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 10, at the Lakewood American Legion, 174 Chautauqua Ave., Lakewood. The party is hosting state Sen. Cathy Young, R-Olean. The meeting is open to the public. The next general meeting is scheduled for March 27 at the Lakewood American Legion. Sen. Young will address the Medicaid issue along with proposed legislation to deal with this issue. She also will speak to the issue of welfare reform, as well as regionalization of county high schools. The public is welcome to attend.
Breakfast To Be Held March 11
BEMUS POINT - The Bemus Point Volunteer Fire Department, 13 Alburtus Ave., will host a pancake breakfast from 7 a.m. to noon on Sunday, March 11, at the Bemus Point Village Hall/Fire Station. The cost for adults is $6; and $3 for children age 10 and under.
Explore JCC Set For March 24
Jamestown Community College will hold Explore JCC, an open house for high school students and others, from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, March 24. A campus fair featuring information on academic programs and student services will be held from 10-11:30 a.m. in the Student Union. Participants can also choose among 20-minute sessions on scholarship opportunities, experiential learning, financial aid, JCC's honors and study abroad programs, transferability of JCC credits, and options for undecided students. Another session, The College Classroom, invites individuals to participate in an actual classroom learning experience.
