Dinner To Benefit Cub Scouts

FALCONER - Cub Pack 173 in Falconer will hold its second annual spaghetti dinner for camp from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the Falcons Nest on Route 394 in Falconer. The cost is $7 for adults, $5 for senior citizens and $3 for children ages 2-10. Children under 2 are free. The menu includes spaghetti, meatballs, salad, roll and drink. Take-outs are available. There will be a Chinese auction, door prizes and a 50-50 drawing. All proceeds will go toward Pack 173's Send a Cub to Camp Account.

Poster Deadline Is March 1

The Chautauqua Alcohol and Substance Abuse Council's 2012 Alcohol Awareness Month poster contest is ongoing. All Chautauqua County students in third through 12th grades are eligible to design posters along the theme "It only takes ONE to make a difference - I can be the one!" Pack Plans Saturday Dinner

Fluvanna Boy Scout Troop 169 will hold a spaghetti dinner from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the Fluvanna Fire Hall on Route 430 in Jamestown. Tickets are $7 for adults and $3 for students.

Story Hours Begin Feb. 29

KENNEDY - The Kennedy Free Library will hold children's story hours starting Wednesday, Feb. 29. Story hour will be held from 11 a.m. to noon and will include stories, crafts, snacks and activities. For more information, call the library at 267-4265.

Disposal Fee To Increase March 1

The fee to dispose garbage at Cattaraugus County transfer stations will increase effective March 1. The price to dispose of household garbage will rise to $1.50 per 15 gallon bag or $3 per 30 gallon bag and $6 per 55 gallon bag. The fee increase will impact bulky materials such as chairs, mattresses, ugs, which are $5 or construction and demolition debris, $20 per cubic yard. Those with questions are asked to call 938-2486.

Salamanca AARP Plans Travel Trip

SALAMANCA - The Travel Group of the Salamanca AARP hs planned a trip to the Canadian Maritimes - Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia and New Brunswick - on Monday, Aug. 6 to Wednesday, Aug. l5. This trip includes breakfast and dinner daily, fully escorted throughout, luggage handling, all taxes and tips, including guides and driver tip. PVCS?Board To Meet April 17

SOUTH DAYTON - The April 24 meeting of the Pine Valley Central School Board of Education has been changed to April 17. Meetings start at 7 p.m. and are held in the board conference room in the elementary school.
