Richard and Barbara Holcomb of Lakewood, N.Y., celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Oct. 8, 2011, with a coffee and cake reception at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, Lakewood, N.Y. The celebration was hosted by their children and grandchildren: Judy (Mike) Meredith; Jordan (Janelle) and great-grandson Georges Meredith, all of Sherman; Anna Meredith of Homer, Alaska; Joe Meredith of Anchorage, Alaska; Mark (Marilyn) Holcomb of Edgewater, Fla.; and Randy Holcomb of Lakewood, with whom they have made their home since 2000.
Holcomb and the former Barbara Glidden were married Oct. 13, 1951, in the Bethlehem Lutheran Church by the Rev. Philip Engdahl.
Holcomb is a retired tool and die maker from MRC/TRW. Mrs. Holcomb is a retired organist at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church and retired school bus driver for Southwestern Central School. They are 58-year charter members of the Gloria Dei Lutheran Church.
