David and Nancy Hawley of Frewsburg, N.Y., announce the engagement of their daughter, Amber Nichole Clavin, to John Steven Thomas Peterson, the son of Richard and Wanda Peterson of Ashville, N.Y.
Miss Clavin is a graduate of Frewsburg Central School and is pursuing a degree in math education at the State University at Fredonia. Her fiance is a graduate of Chautauqua Lake Central School and the State University at Fredonia.
A Sept. 1, 2012, wedding is planned.
