James and Martha Seely of Jamestown, N.Y., announce the engagement of their son, Joel G., to Samantha M. Swangler, the daughter of Robert Swangler, of Montgomeryville, Pa., and Jacqueline Coughlin-Davis, of Corpus Christi, Texas.
Seely is a 1998 graduate of Jamestown High School and a 2005 graduate of the State College at Oswego with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in graphic design. He is employed by BB&T bank as a user experience web designer in Raleigh, N,C. His fiancee is a 1997 graduate of North Penn High School in Pennsylvania, and a 2002 graduate of Wilkes University in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., with a Bachelor of Arts in psychology and elementary education. She is employed by Drug Safety Alliance Inc. as an executive assistant and communications specialist in Durham, N.C.
A May 2012 wedding is planned in Durham, N.C.
