Approximately 130 new jobs will be available in Olean starting this March.
That is the number of employee's the new Kohl's store in Olean is expecting to hire for its start in March. The new store will be located in the Olean Center Mall in the former location of Steve & Barry's, which is at the intersection of North Union Street and Delaware Avenue. In May, it was reported Kohl's had signed a multi-year lease with Zamias Services Inc., which owns the mall.
Starting today, Kohl's officials will be hosting a job fair to fill the 130 positions, which includes register operators, department associates, customer service associates, early a.m. freight unloaders and evening ad set associates.

The job fair will be held from 10:45 a.m. and go to 6:15 p.m. today and Monday, 12:15 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, 8:45 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at the Jamestown Community College Cattaraugus County Campus, which is located at 260 N. Union St., Olean.
Kohl's officials will be accepting applications for part-time hourly positions. Applicants should visit kohlscareers.com or call 877-639-5645 to schedule an interview.
Walk-in candidates are welcome to drop off an application at the hiring job fair, but only those who have scheduled an interview in advance via the website or the Kohl's hiring hotline are guaranteed an interview.
In the fall of 2011, Kohl's officials stated the company had created approximately 4,000 jobs when it opened 30 new stores nationwide. Kohl's also remodeled 100 stores nationwide in 2011, an 18 percent increase from 2010.
