ASHVILLE - There is now an authorized dealer of Yamaha snowmobiles in the Jamestown area.
Snug Harbor Marina, 2374 W. Lake Road, Ashville, has expanded its product line to include Yamaha new or pre-owned snowmobiles. The business, which also has a storage and parts location at 5822 Snug Harbor Drive, Mayville, provides full maintenance services and accessories.
''For the last 12 years, we've just been a boat dealer,'' said Jim Kistner, Snug Harbor Marina sales manager. ''Now, were also a new Yamaha snowmobile dealer. They're a very reliable snowmobile. There was a need for a Yamaha snowmobile dealer on the lake.''

Kistner said before Snug Harbor became an authorized Yamaha dealer, there were no other businesses in the area selling the company's snowmobiles.
''Before, people who wanted a Yamaha had to go to Erie or Buffalo for one or to get service on one. It was the only name brand of snowmobile that wasn't represented locally,'' he said.
Snug Harbor Marina, owned by John Nelan, previously dealt only with boats but was still open year-round. Kistner said the growth of snowmobiling in the aera has gives people have even more of an incentive to visit Snug Harbor's showroom during the winter months.
''It is a good opportunity for year-round business,'' he said. ''Boating and snowmobiling, not everyone does both. The reception has been fantastic. People are excited there is a Yamaha dealer locally.''
From helmets to gloves to boots to snowmobile suits, Kistner said people can find all accessories they need to hit the trails. Snug Harbor also offers service ranging from oil changes to belt replacements and spark plugs.
''We can do anything that needs done,'' he said. ''We're able to service customers who like Yamaha snowmobiles.''
Also, Snug Harbor Marina has expanded its boat selection, too. The business is now a Cobalt boat sales location.
''John (Nelan) wanted to offer another high-end boating line. Cobalt is a great addition. It is a quality boat,'' Kistner said.
Along with Cobalt boats and Yamaha snowmobiles, Snug Harbor offers Bennington pontoon boats, Chaparral Boats, MasterCraft Boat Company, Tidewater Boats, Honda outboard engines, Summit Marine hydraulic boat lifts and Venture trailers. The business also provides Ronix and Radar brand products, surfboards, skis, kneeboards, tubes, towlines and accessories.
The business is open from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
