The next meeting of the Town of Poland Seniors will be a pot luck luncheon on Wednesday, Jan. 18. Anyone attending should bring a dish to pass and their own table service. Committee will be Jan Smith and Ruth McKinley.
Sixty-nine members of the group met on Dec. 21 for a catered Christmas dinner. Committee for the afternoon was Cliff and Lee Barnes, Bob and Donna Cross, and Ray and Barb Wiltsie.
Eva Baker gave the table grace and Bob Cross called tables. Eva Baker, president, called the meeting to order with the flag salute and song, accompanied on the piano by Lou Ball.
The secretary and treasurer reports were given and approved. A fundraiser was held and a collection from the members was taken. They collected $150, which was donated to St. Susan's Soup Kitchen.
A moment of silent prayer was held for deceased members.
Celebrating birthdays in December were Jim Beightol, Ray Wiltsie, Norma Vine, Paul Burch, Ethel Bastian and Phyllis Frink.
Trip chairperson Sally Canniff reported there are four trips scheduled for 2012: April 24, June 12, Aug. 14 and Oct. 2.
Entertainment for the afternoon was the Falconer Select Choir, under the direction of Anne Marie Mogenhan from the Falconer High School. Students from 10th to 12th grade performed a medley of Christmas carols and holiday music.
