Harmony Seniors Plan January Meeting

December 21, 2011
The Post-Journal

The Harmony Seniors will meet on Thursday, Jan. 5, at noon in the Panama Methodist Church for a tureen lunch. All those attending should bring their own table service and a dish to pass. Food committee includes Dee and Chuck Ellis, Bonnie Anderson, Lester Wevers, and Carol Williams.

Recently, the seniors met for a Christmas luncheon at the Rowdy Rooster in Panama. Rosalie Logue, president, welcomed all. Pauline Edsall gave a reading entitled ''Let Us Live Christmas Every Day.'' She then gave the dinner prayer and led the pledge to the flag.

Birthdays were celebrated by Marie Dole, eldest in attendance; Mike Emules, Alvin James, Ron Kelly, Melvin Lord, Steve Raynor, Eloise Smith, Tom Smith, Don Sweeney, Gail Wakefield, Lyle Walker and Carol Bergman White. Anniversaries were celebrated by Gay and Larry Ostrander, and Janet and Lyle Walker.

Those who participated in the Salvation Army Tree were thanked for their generous contributions. Poinsettias were to be delivered to shut-ins and those members in nursing homes. Dottie Enlow, trips chair, reported that plans are under way for setting up the trip schedule for 2012. Members were reminded that in winter when Panama Central School is canceled, the senior citizen meeting is also canceled. Members were urged to sign up for monthly dinner committees.
