Burt and Ruth Hallberg of Frewsburg, N.Y., formerly of Ellery Center and Virginia, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Nov. 12, 2011, with an open house at Trinity United Methodist Church in Frewsburg, N.Y. The celebration was hosted by their four children: Scott (Shari) Hallberg, Jody Beelendorf and Charlie Hallberg, all from Staunton, Va., and John (Peggy) Hallberg from Jamestown, N.Y. They also have seven grandchildren.
They were married Nov. 11, 1961.
Hallberg had been employed as a highway superintendent of the town of Ellery and drove school bus for Bemus Point Central Schools. Mrs. Hallberg had been employed as a cafeteria monitor at Bemus Point Elementary School and New Process in Warren. They are members of Trinity United Methodist Church in Frewsburg, N.Y.
