Segel & Son Names New CEO

WARREN, Pa. - The Segel & Son Inc. board has appointed Eric C. Hern as president and chief executive officer of the company.

Hern has been company's controller for the past 14 months.

David W. Segel will take on a new role with the organization and will focus his future efforts on a variety of special projects for the benefit of the company's customers.

"We have been impressed with Eric's performance since he was hired and are pleased to have someone with his background helping us move the company forward," said Harry Segel, Segel & Son Inc. chairman of the board.

"I am grateful for the opportunity to lead Segel & Son into the future," Hern said. "Segel & Son has both 90-plus years of great history in the region and dedicated employees and I am looking forward to working with them and our customers to strengthen our business for decades to come."

Hern has more than 20 years background in running business units for a variety of manufacturing, retail and finance companies. Hern holds a bachelor's degree from Allegheny College and both an MBA and MPA from Gannon University. He lives in Lakewood with his wife Jennifer and his three children.

Segel & Son Inc. is the oldest and largest locally owned scrap metal recycling and new steel sales company in the region for both residential and corporate customers with facilities in Warren and Olean.
