‘Double Shot Of Tequila’ At The Q This Weekend

October 20, 2011
By Scott Shelters - Features/Entertainment Reporter (sshelters@post-journal.com) , The Post-Journal

In 2006, many people around the nation measured popularity based on how many MySpace friends they had. At that time, musician turned MTV reality star Tila Tequila was the most popular artist on MySpace. If you weren't online friends with her, you weren't important in the social networking world.

A few years later, MySpace became totally obsolete. Today, we measure popularity based on how many Facebook friends we have. Thankfully for Tila, she has managed to remain popular despite the change, making plenty of radio and TV appearances. Unfortunately, the 2010 death of her fiance Casey Johnson, daughter of New York Jets owner Woody Johnson, and a highly publicized 2009 run-in with her then-boyfriend NFL linebacker Shawne Merriman have left Tila looking more infamous than famous in the eyes of some.

Love her or hate her, she will serve as the celebrity host at The Q on Friday and Saturday night.

Individuals ages 18 and up may come to the bar and meet Tila on Friday night. A dress code will be enforced, and there will be a $15 cover for those who are under 21. The cover will be $10 for individuals ages 21 and over. On Saturday night, The Q and Tila will host a 'Pink Party.' The bar's staff asks attendees to wear pink to support breast cancer awareness. Only those who are 21 and up will be admitted on Saturday. There will once again be a $10 cover.

The Q is located at the corner of West Second and Cherry streets in Jamestown. Call 483-6256 for more information.
